These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of ChipReaders.nl and all related services. By using the platform you accept these terms.

Article 1 — Definitions

• Platform: the website ChipReaders.nl and all underlying pages and APIs.
• User: any person who visits the platform or creates an account.
• Pet owner: user who registers one or more pets.
• Chip reader: user who offers a chip scanner location on the platform.
• Service: chip registration, lost pet reports, chip reader overview and related functions.

Article 2 — Use of the platform

1. The platform is intended exclusively for lawful use. Use for illegal purposes is prohibited.
2. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter.
3. It is not permitted to submit false lost pet reports or to misuse the platform to track third parties.
4. ChipReaders.nl reserves the right to delete accounts in case of misuse, without prior notice.

Article 3 — Chip registration

1. The registration fee is €4.99 one-time per pet (unless stated otherwise).
2. After successful payment via Mollie, the registration is final and the pet is added to our database.
3. ChipReaders.nl is an independent platform and is not connected to an official government register. Registering with us does not replace any legal registration obligation.

Article 4 — Payments and refunds

1. Payments are processed via Mollie B.V., a regulated payment service provider.
2. All prices include VAT.
3. Due to the immediate digital delivery, the right of withdrawal does not apply once the registration has been processed (Article 6:230p of the Dutch Civil Code, section f).
4. In the event of technical problems on our end causing the registration not to be processed, you are entitled to a refund. Please contact info@chipreaders.nl.

Article 5 — Chip reader profiles

1. Chip reader registrations are free and require approval from an administrator.
2. ChipReaders.nl reserves the right to reject applications or remove approved profiles in case of incorrect or misleading information.
3. Chip readers are responsible for the accuracy of their opening hours, address and other profile information.
4. ChipReaders.nl does not guarantee that a chip reader is actually available at the stated times.

Article 6 — Lost pet reports

1. Lost pet reports are published in good faith based on the information provided by the reporter.
2. ChipReaders.nl does not verify whether the reporter is the rightful owner of the pet.
3. In case of misuse (e.g. filing a false report), ChipReaders.nl reserves the right to file a police report.
4. Reports are automatically archived after 1 year.

Article 7 — Liability

1. ChipReaders.nl accepts no liability for damages arising from the use of the platform, unless there is intent or gross negligence.
2. ChipReaders.nl is not liable for the consequences of failing to recover a lost pet.
3. The information on the platform (including chip lookups in external databases) is indicative and not legally binding.
4. ChipReaders.nl's maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant service.

Article 8 — Intellectual property

All content on ChipReaders.nl (texts, images, code, logos) is owned by ChipReaders.nl (Chamber of Commerce/KvK: 98928120) or its licensors. Copying, reusing or distributing content without written permission is not permitted.

Article 9 — Applicable law

These terms are exclusively governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the district where ChipReaders.nl (Chamber of Commerce/KvK: 98928120) is established.

Article 10 — Changes

ChipReaders.nl reserves the right to amend these terms. Amended terms take effect 14 days after publication. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
